SUPERSTORE V 2008 - 2009

The 2,200m² site is located on a prominent location along Vouliagmenis Avenue. The brief required the design of a 3,000m² open plan commercial space on the ground and first floors. Parking, storage and support spaces are placed in two levels below ground.

Being a speculative development, our response aims at the maximization of the ground floor storefront along the main street façade, as well as the maximization of the building coverage. The upper front façade as all other sides of the structure are blind in order to meet the ‘black box’ requirements.

Particular emphasis has been paid to the materiality of the façades which will be clad in fixed anodized aluminium sheets organized in horizontal bands. During the day, the horizontal bands will reflect the colours of the sky. At night, they will reflect the linear movement of the passing car lights while an integrated LED lighting system will emphasize the striation of the façade.
